90 Mins Run Time | 4 Presenters | 2 Babies
Round two on my virtual show calling experience and it was back to the dining room to hug the router.
As my confidence builds and I get to know my virtual colleagues from Beings Broadcast, things feel a little easier.
We had four presenters, all linked up via Vmix and Unity – the only difference this time was that everything was ran from a cloud of magic. And magic it was as the Producer’s other half went into early labour shortly followed by the Technical Managers’ wife two days later!
Baby G and Baby J arrived safely, on the tails of our virtual event. I like to think as a show crew we were all part of their journey into this crazy world.
With a Producer and a TM down, it was battle stations but with a jiggle of roles we worked out our flow for technical set up and client onboarding.
What made this job easier was using a different viewing system for our previews; I could see everything that the Vision Engineer had lined up and the quality of the output was amazing.
I also treated myself to a new USB mono headset which was a lifesaver, as I needed a backup ear to listen in to the program feed.
I was far more relaxed this time around and enjoyed the job – I didn’t lose any stress-related weight which is disappointing, but the commute was a joy!
